ODEON OF HERODES ATTICUS
OCTOBER 3RD 2024
Mario Frangoulis returns to the Herod Atticus Odeon on October 3rd and brings his ‘Symphony’ with a new performance created especially for this evening with his special guest, distinguished American soprano, Larisa Martinez.
Accompanied by the Philharmonia Orchestra of Athens and conducted by the talented maestro Stathis Soulis, the beloved international artist presents 'Symphony Of Life', a program that draws a parallel between life itself and a symphonic work.
Just as a symphonic work consists of specific parts and is performed by an ensemble of perfectly synchronized instruments, such is life too, a game of balance and harmony.
The songs of ‘Symphony of Life’ are like a balancing act and follow one another emphasizing the harmony of life and its highest values. Songs of love, friendship and life from the world's finest international repertoire will swirl in the ‘Symphony’ that Mario Frangoulis wishes to bring to his audience.
Mario Frangoulis needs no introductions for his artistic career both on international level and in Greece. Parallel careers with multiple facets and genres of music, performing in the theatre to great critical acclaim, interpreting melodies in over 5 languages, countless performances with acclaimed orchestras and conductors, while the collaborations with artists around the world are numerous, all whilst maintaining his unwavering philanthropic sensitivity.
Larisa Martinez is an accomplished soprano originating from Puerto Rico. Her achievements include performances at Carnegie Hall and the Kennedy Center and she has interpreted the roles of Violetta - La Traviata and Maria - West Side Story among others.
Her collaborations include those with Andrea Bocelli and violinist Joshua Bell and in 2016 she won an award from the Metropolitan Opera.
Appearing for the first time together, the two great artists promise to bring you an unforgettable performance below the Sacred Rock of the Acropolis.
